As part of getting healthier, I have been cooking breakfast at home. I used to be in a hurry and stopped at Burger King every morning for a sausage, egg and cheese croissant and a 32 ounce Diet Coke. Now, as one might imagine, this is not the greatest breakfast.
That’s 470 calories for breakfast! But, they are healthy calories, right?
Once I decided to start cooking breakfast at home, life got healthier and it actually tastes much better.
My most common breakfast these days is an egg scramble with the following ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 ounces of pork sausage
- 2 mini bell peppers, sliced
- 2 slices of shallots
- A big handful of spinach
- Dash of dried thyme
Today I splurged and added a couple of pieces of my flax seed waffles with butter and real maple syrup as well as come fresh berries. Now, which do you think:
- Tastes better
- Is cheaper, and
- Is healthier?
